WORKSHOP: Biophilic Design: Designing with Nature in Mind

07 May 2025
BUILDING SOLUTIONS & MATERIALS WORKSHOPS

Biophilic design provides a structured framework to create a connection between the built environment and the natural environment.

In this workshop, architect and director of Ironbark Architecture, Chris Freeburn, will introduce some of the patterns used for biophilic design, explain why it matters now more than ever, and share some ways that we can incorporate it into the design of our homes, workplaces and public spaces.

When paired with sustainable design and passive design, biophilic design can help us to make buildings that are better for the environment, places that improve our comfort and wellbeing, and create a genuine connection with the land that we build on.
