Sydney Olympic Park to Undergo Transformation with Metro West Project

A significant revitalisation is on the horizon for Sydney Olympic Park, marking the most substantial transformation since the 2000 Olympics, as plans are underway for a new Metro station and a vibrant residential precinct that will introduce over 400 new homes.
This upcoming precinct will feature a trio of high-rise buildings ranging from 21 to 45 storeys, alongside enhancements to existing residences, culminating in a total of 490 new dwellings and a host of amenities for residents.
Paul Scully, the NSW Minister for Planning and Public Space, views this development as a pivotal advancement in addressing Sydney's persistent housing shortage. "The NSW Government is actively engaged in planning and delivering more residences for the future," he asserted. "This approval solidifies our commitment to facilitating the creation of well-situated homes in proximity to transportation, employment opportunities, and services."
While the new residential enclave is designed to align with the upcoming stations on the Metro West line currently in progress, there are strategies in place to establish a link between the Metro and the forthcoming stages of the Parramatta light rail project.
“Our new Metro station will include wide platforms on both sides of the train that will allow us to load and unload passengers quickly”, states NSW Minister for Transport Jo Haylen. With bus, train, ferry and light rail connections also close by, it’ll make it even easier for us to handle large crowds when the world’s biggest stars come to town.”
