Andrew has been the Director of AHMM’s Sydney Studio since 2022 and is a passionate advocate for creating places and buildings of economy, elegance and delight. He believes that buildings should make a positive, lasting and sustainable contribution to the city.

Andrew has a strong interest in housing, especially its key role in creating the streets and public spaces that give character to the places where we live and its ability to deliver social equity. Twinned with this interest is an appreciation of the need to radically rethink how we design and build to move towards a future where the built environment can sustain and regenerate the natural systems upon which we all rely.

He studied architecture and started his career in Brisbane after having grown up across Nigeria, Hong Kong, and Singapore.  Andrew joined AHMM in 2006 after moving to the UK. At the practice, he has led a series of innovative and award-winning projects, spanning a range of typologies from schools and civic buildings to major mixed-use urban regeneration projects. His work has been recognised with numerous awards, including London RIBA awards for the Library at Willesden Green and Park Central, as well as national industry awards for Bream Street and West Grove residential projects. He recently led AHMM’s entry to the Australian Living Building Challenge 2023, as well as our involvement in A New Normal Sydney – The Carbon Free Kitchen.

Andrew has taught, guest lectured, and critiqued at the Queensland University of Technology, University of Technology Sydney, The Bartlett, Greenwich University, and UAL Central St Martins, and he has lectured on practice for the RIBA.
