Marko Damic has more than two decades of experience as an architect on residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects across Australia and the UK.

At Architectus, he plays a key role in significant design competitions, often winning work through inventive solutions that push the boundaries of design.

In recent years Marko has developed a particular interest in the potential for adaptive re-use, proposing innovative approaches to converting B-grade office buildings into contemporary housing in our cities.

Marko’s analytical approach to his work has also resulted in cutting-edge building façades on projects such as 1 Array at Eden Park, which balances environmental efficiency with aesthetic appeal. Other key projects in his portfolio include University of Newcastle Student Accommodation, urban planning for 4-6 Bligh Street, and the international design competition-winning scheme for 1 Spring Street with Ingenhoven Architects and Harry Seidler & Associates.

His projects have received a number of industry awards, including Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) National Awards for residential and commercial buildings as well as the AIA Sulman Award for Public Buildings.

Prior to working with Architectus Marko was an Associate Director and lead designer at Bates Smart, where he led many major residential and commercial buildings through successful design competitions, master planning and design development phases.
