Natalia Krysiak is an architect, play consultant, and founder of Cities for Play. She specializes in designing learning and play environments that foster children’s development, well-being, and connection with the built environment. Her work spans masterplanning schools, designing early childhood centers, creating urban play strategies, and consulting on family-friendly housing developments.
Passionate about child-friendly cities, Natalia integrates research and design to create spaces that support children’s health, independence, and opportunities for play. In 2019, she was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to study best practices in child-friendly design across five countries. Building on this research, she established Cities for Play, a design practice dedicated to creating inspiring children’s spaces and advocating for policies that prioritize children’s needs in urban environments worldwide. Through her work at Cities for Play, she demonstrates how thoughtful urban planning and architecture can enhance children's development, while fostering vibrant and inclusive cities.
Natalia has spoken at leading conferences, including the World Early Childhood Development Conference in Abu Dhabi, Urban Design Forum in London and the UN Sustainable Development Conference in Singapore. Her work has been featured in Planning Institute of Australia, The Architecture Bulletin and The Urban Developer.
