Joseph Loh
Joe Loh is a Senior Practice Director at BVN. He is an architect and urban designer with 17 years working across a variety of scales and typologies. Early in his career, he was part of a team developing the Sustainable Sydney 2030 plan commissioned by the City of Sydney and following that the Liveable Green Network. In 2010 he joined multidisciplinary practice SJB where he continued his masterplanning and strategic work becoming more involved in the translation of these ideas into residential and mixed-use buildings. Over the next decade he helped grow and diversify the practice to include hotels, student accommodation and build-to-rent sectors.
Joe is a registered architect with the NSW Institute of Architects and has been a member of various committees and panels including at the Property Council of Australia and the Australian Institute of Architects. His work has been recognised with multiple awards including from the AIA, PIA and UDIA.
He advocates for high-quality architectural outcomes that contribute positively to our society, urban environment and natural environment. At BVN his diverse experience sees him leading large and complex mixed-use precincts at various stages of development. He is part of BVN’s internal Design Caucus, formed to champion innovative and high-quality design outcomes across the practice. His current projects include several high density master planned, mixed-use precincts blending residential, retail, community and commercial uses with emphasis on environment, amenity and livablity.
